When I was about 12 or 13 years old, a family friend from Scotland came to visit. During that visit, he introduced me to Ansel Adams; we spent what felt like hours going through one of Adams’ photography books, and also going through some photos of mine that I took on my old flip phone. Ever since that day I have dreamed of being a photographer.
My parents gave me my first DSLR camera when I was a senior in high school, where I began photographing everything and anything. After I married, my husband encouraged me to get my degree in photography, saying that I should pursue a career in something I am passionate about. My time in photography school has led me down so many adventures, and has really pushed my creativity and skill level beyond what I even imagined I would be able to do. I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in August of 2020.

I am a very introverted person, and struggle with finding the right words to say. Having a camera around soon became my way of expressing myself and communicating how I am feeling. To me, photography is more than just taking a pretty photo, it's  an emotional outlet. I photograph a variety of subjects, in various different lighting scenarios, and focus on how to capture the emotion I am feeling when taking a photograph. My photographs are not an accurate representation of reality, but rather, use lighting and color as expressive tools to enhance the emotional response to each subject.
